The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a moulded part comprising a reinforcement (4) embedded in a layer (6) of plastic and surrounding a central panel (2) also made of plastic. According to the invention, while the plastic is in a fluid state, the central panel and the embedding layer (6) are connected together by a succession of elongate and spaced-apart strips (tongues) (8) which are moulded substantially in the plane (3) of the panel (2) and, during the natural shrinkage of the plastic, these strips are allowed to deform in the plane of the panel so that they absorb most of the tensile force exerted on the part during the shrinkage, thereby preferably making the strips adopt a marked sinuosity. The invention applies in particular to the production of a cheeseboard (cheese tray). <IMAGE>
