The present invention relates to a connector element (6) consisting of a hollow body (11) open at one of its ends so as to delimit a cavity which encloses one or more connection member(s) under a movable cover and in which a main axis (X) defines the direction of insertion of the projecting part of a second connector element. According to the invention, the cover is formed of several elements (17, 18) which are articulated onto the body (11) each around a pivoting axis (23a or 23b) substantially perpendicular to the main axis (X) of the cavity of the latter, and exhibit parts (19, 20) overlapping the open end of the body, held contiguous by immobilisation means (28) which can be released under the effect of the pivoting of at least one of the elements of the cover.
