The electronic apparatus, operated at a temperature of between +40 and -40 degrees, has a dust- and water-tight housing containing at least one frame (30,31) supporting a number of plug-in component modules (33). A vertical shaft (35) extends between the frames (30,31), with a heat exchanger (41) at the top end of the shaft (25), coupled in a closed fluid circulation loop, with valves (57,58) controlling the circulation flow. Preferably, the walls of the housing (11) are double-skinned with a cellular material between the inner and outer skin. USE - For maintaining correct temperature for electronic telephone switchbox apparatus.
