PURPOSE:To produce a binding resin improved in the quantity of charge, the environmental stability of an image and grindability by blending two polymerizable monomer mixtures before performing two polymerization reactions simultaneously in the same reaction vessel. CONSTITUTION:An alcohol component [e.g. polyoxypropylene-(2,2)--2,2-bis (4- hydroxyphenyl) propane] is mixed with a carboxylic acid component (e.g. maleic acid) to obtain a condensation--polymerizable monomer mixture (A). An aromatic vinyl compound (e.g. syrene) is mixed with an ethylenic monocarboxylic acid (ester) (e.g. methyl acrylate) to obtain an addition-polymerizable monomer mixture (B). 0.001-15wt.% crosslinking agent (e.g. divinylbenzene) and 0.1-20 pts.wt. polymerization initiator (e.g. benzoyl peroxide) are added to 100 pts.wt. polymerizable monomer mixture obtained by mixing component A with component B, and the resulting mixture is simultaneously subjected to polycondensation and polyaddition to obtain a binding resin comprising 10-90 pts.wt. condensation resin and 90-10 pts.wt. addition resin and having a softening point of 95-170 deg.C and a glass transition temperature of 50-80 deg.C.
