The auxiliary reflector (40) is plane except for a low peak (40.1) in its centre which is placed under and close to the envelope (2.1) of a point-source lamp (2) protruding downward through an aperture (31) in the main reflector (30). Preferably dimensions are: main reflector height (HR) 140.5 mm and half-width (BR) 119.6 mm, auxiliary reflector half-width (BH) 30.7 mm, and aperture radius (RR) 17.5 mm. Multiple reflections of the light of the lamp (2) from surfaces of the main reflector (30) are reduced to a min. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electric lamp with more efficient lighting achieved with emission into an angle of 250 deg. or more.
