The outer ring (1) is for a wheel bearing for a vehicle. It has a concentric bearing surface (7), a sleeve (15) with a cover (16) and a flange (17) with threaded holes (20) which open into radial recesses (27). Each recess has an inwardly curved longitudinal section contour which runs radially above the bearing surface (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Outer ring in which the threaded holes have an outstandingly good fatigue strength.
