PURPOSE:To obtain a porous ion exchanger sheet which is scarcely separable from a pulplike, multibranched ion exchange sheet and highly water-resistant, by bonding said ion exchanger sheet using molten pulplike polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:After 30-95wt% pulplike, multibranched ion exchanger (i), 5-70wt% polyolefin synthetic pulp (ii) of m.p. 50-150 deg.C and 0-50wt% natural pulp and mixed and molded into a sheet, the sheet obtd. is heated to a temp >= the m.p. of the polyolefin pulp (ii), to obtain a porous sheet of an ion exchange material of pore size from a few thous and Angstrom to several tens of mu, in which the component (i) is entangled with each other and firmly bonded with each other with the component (ii). USE:Useful as an ion exchange membrane for ion concentration, desalting and high- molecular ion separation, and a filter membrane. |
