The frequency setting circuit uses division of a reference frequency by a whole number to provide at least two control frequencies which are mixed together within successive periods. Each of these periods is divided into sub-periods respectively used for setting each of the control frequencies. Pref. the reference frequency is provided by a quartz oscillator stage (2) supplying frequency converters (1a,1b). Each converter is coupled to a control processor (3a,3b) to obtain the required control frequency fed via a frequency output stage (4) to a frequency converter (5) for a synchronous motor (6).
