Vehicle tachograph coupling cuff - has internal projections spaced by grooves facilitating insertion and locking of force transmission shaft

The coupling cuff (1) is used to drive the tachograph counter mechanism, with a drive mechanism for a recording pin between the coupling cuff and the counter mechanism. The open end of the coupling cuff has a number of engaging projections (16) around its inside face for receiving the force transmission shaft which has a corresponding end projection. This has radial elements fitted through grooves (1d) between the engaging projections (1b) and rotated to lock behind the latter. Each engaging projection (1b) has a pair of symmetrical angled faces (1c) leading to the grooves (1d) on either side of each projection (1b). ADVANTAGE - Simple secure locking of force transmission shaft.
