DRIVING WAVEFORM GENERATION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To generate the driving signal for an optical shutter by a stabilized power source and to reduce the cost by generating the driving signal for driving the optical shutter according to data stored in a memory. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal head 4 performs selective opening/closure control over microshutters in a liquid crystal shutter cell 9 with the driving signal outputted by a liquid crystal shutter driving circuit 11 according to the stored memory contents. The light from a light source is diffused and reflected by diffusion stripes of an optical transmission rod 8 and light which irradiates microshutters in an open state through a slit 12' is transmitted. The peripheral surface of a photosensitive drum is irradiated with the light through an image forming lens array 10 to form an electrostatic latent image. This electrostatic latent image is developed into a toner image by a developing unit and transferred to a form by a transfer unit.
