PURPOSE:To reduce speed change shock at the time of manual down-shift by performing the leased line pressure setting for the manual speed change time separately from the line pressure setting for the automatic speed change time at the time of performing manual down-shift. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic transmission controller 9, the down-shift generating time is detected on the basis of the range change-over operation of a select lever 10 and the 'on' operation of a hold switch 11, and when the down-shift is generated on the basis of manual operation, the line pressure is forcibly lowered to the lowest pressure value once so as to be made lower than the value immediately before the start of speed change and then built up as the difference between the turbine rotating speed at the speed change starting time and the actual turbine rotating speed is increased at the rate of more than zero. Further with the control of delaying the 'off' control of a solenoid valve by the set time at the manual down-shift time, line pressure is supplied to a coasting clutch with the delay of the set time (to) from the time of manually operating the down-shift generating selector lever 10 or the hold switch 11. |
