PURPOSE:To perform image communication with high resolution by separating a video image-picked up by an image pickup means capable of performing image pickup with resolution higher than normal resolution to partial images with normal resolution. CONSTITUTION:For example, the partial images of 352X288 dots can be obtained by separating the video image-picked up by 704X576 dots to four parts, and the image transmission of each partial image is performed sequentially according to the normal resolution (CIF...352X288 dots). At a reception side, the partial image based on the partial image sent from a transmission side is comprised as a picture, and one picture comprised of 704X576 dots is formed, and it is displayed on a display 16 displayable in 704X576 dots. Thereby, the image communication can be performed with the resolution of two times the horizontal and vertical directions of the normal resolution, respectively. Also, the image communication with the resolution of two times the horizontal and vertical directions of the normal resolution is shown in this case, however, the image communication with the resolution of three times, four times, etc., can be performed. |
