Methods and an apparatus for cutting wings (28), from the body of slaughtered poultry, for instance poultry (2) and by which the body is conveyed hanging in the legs (4) in a conveyor towards a position, where the wings (28) are cut from the body by means of rotating cutting means (60), and where the body is conveyed towards said position with the back side first and raised rearwards/upwards by means of central guiding means (10), as the wings (28) are caught and spring loaded lead outwards/downwards in proportion to the body, and where the body is conveyed between preferably stationary knife means (70) being adapted to cut through the skin near the basis joint of the wings, to expose the large tendons between the body and the wings and to press the breast meat inwards against the body, that said tendons are cut through by means of rotating knife blades (60), so that the joint bones of the wings are pulled free from the basis joints, and that the wings (28) are cut totally from the body by passage of said knife blades. |
