<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a water-absorbing sheet whose preventive effect on dew condensation continues for a long period of time, and which has a tasteful surface by providing a sticking agent layer on a fiber web to which a water- absorbing polymer is fixed under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble polymer is added to a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer to prepare an aqueous monomer solution having a viscosity of 200 or more cPs, and this aqueous monomer solution is deposited on one face of fiber web. This monomer is polymerized to be converted into a water-absorbing polymer, thereby obtaining a fiber web with the water-absorbing polymer deposited on its one face. Then, a sticking agent, or a double-coated tape impregnated with a sticking agent, is applied to, or laminated to, the face of fiber web, on which the water-absorbing polymer is deposited, to obtain a water-absorbing sheet. Paper, an unwoven cloth, a woven cloth or the like, which consists of fibers such as gas-permeable nylon, polyester and cellulose, is used as the fiber web, and (meth)acrylic acid and its salts, (meth)acrylamide or the like is used as the monomer. It is further preferable to use a hydroxyethyl cellulose as the water-soluble high-molecular compound.</p> |
