<p>A composite sheet of elastic plastic material, esp. one comprising non-vulcanised rubber for printing plates consists of a sheet of thermosetting resin with the sheet of rubber. The synthetic resin is pref. a polyester esp. polyethylene terephthalate. The sheet of polyester may form a base for the sheet of non-vulcanised rubber forming the printing surface, or it may be inserted between two layers of rubber. The laminae has greater dimensional stability than plates including carton or cloth and is useful in flexography.</p> |
