<p>Tinning or dipping line control for carriages on an overhead rail and rollers involves several cross rail distributors per carriage with punched tape or plates and circuit switches. Only one of the distributors is used at any one time, the remainder held in readiness so that by changing a punched plate on the carriage a new programme can be worked through with respect to the carriage involved. These plates are simply slid in and out of the workholders on the carriages. Avoidance of lost time after completion of a programme allows programmes to be changed on-line so that parts requiring different treatment can be handled in sequence without complete re-wiring.</p> |
