<p>An internal combustion engine has a sensor mounted within a combustion chamber of the engine. The sensor includes or forms part of a sealing plug fitted into a bore (22) in the wall (16) of the combustion chamber and urged by the combustion chamber pressure against a shoulder in the bore (22). A tube (14) cast into the cylinder head or cylinder block opens into the bore (22) to allow an external connection to be made to the sensor for the transmission of data.</p> |
