PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate capped state by displacing caps following stopping positions of record heads so as to cap. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that a carriage is stopped at a position where an arranging range H of 4 record heads to be covered by caps and an arranging range C of 4 caps covering outlet forming faces of the record heads separately are deviated by DELTA. When an access lever 461 is discharged, a taper 461T at a tip 461A engages with a recess 205H of a head cover 205. As the access lever 461 is supported in a displaceable manner in a carriage scanning direction S, the taper intrudes into the recess 205H by moving in a left direction. The moving in the left direction makes a displacement in the same direction as a cap holder 471 or caps 420, since a pin 533 is engaged with a long hole 531. In a state that the such of the tip 461A of the access lever into the recess 205H is completed, there is no deviation of the range H and the range C and the record heads face the caps 420, so that an accurate capping is performed when the caps 420 are advanced. |
