Equipment includes (a) a tunnel (1) equipped with an endless transport belt (6) of polyamide-type material with a desirable heat exchange coefficient; (b) an air cooling and supply unit (5) opt. incorporated in the tunnel (1); (c) one or more distribution spaces (17) above the upper strand of the belt (6) for uniform cold air distribution over the upper faces of the products (7) to freeze the products; and (d) one or more collectors (27) associated with the belt upper strand for channelling the cold air under the upper strand. USE/ADVANTAGE - The equipment is used esp. for deep freezing fresh meat or fish products. It reduces material and evapn. losses and energy consumption, without the need for an increased number of operators, and gives products of improved appearance.
