NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R is alkyl or acyl). EXAMPLE:Lilac alcohol acetic ester. USE:A perfume having floral, lilac, green, herbal, aldehyde-like, fruit or apricot- like fragrance. Useful as a material for preparing a perfume composition having mildness and duration. PREPARATION:Lilac alcohol shown by formula II is allowed to react with an organic acid shown by the formula (R1CO)nY (Y is OH, halogen or O; when Y is OH or halogen; (n) is 1 and when Y is O, (n) is 2) or a functional derivative in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. pyridine) at -20 to 150 deg.C to give a compound shown by formula I. |
