NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R1 and R2 are alkyl, 7-9C aralkyl or R1 and R2 are bonded to form 2-6C alkylene). USE:A perfume having floral, lilac, fruit, apricot-like, vanillic or honey fragrance. PREPARATION:Lilac aldehyde shown by formula B is allowed to react with an alcohol (e.g. methanol, ethanol or isopropanol) or an acetalizing agent (e.g. methyl orthoformate or ethyl orthoformate) in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. HCl, phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid) to give a compound shown by formula A. The compound shown by formula A has extremely mild and excellent duration, is added to various perfume compositions and used. The amount added, for example, is generally about 0.001 - about 30wt.% based on total amounts of perfume composition. |
