A method of producing catheter is provided, comprising the steps of molding a catheter with rubber or plastic, subjecting at least a portion of said catheter touching on human body to activation treatment, and then forming a metallic layer having bactericidal or sterile action on the main body of catheter by electroless plating treatment.
