A laboratory &c. table top 1 is provided with a unit 10, e.g. cupboard, drawer, &c., which is longitudinally slidable in relation to the top 1 on runners 11, 12. In Fig.1 the table top 1 is supported on bearers 2 and uprights 3, 4 enclosing a space which may be utilized for pipework. The uprights are supported on members 5 which may have levelling means and a shelf 8 is provided enclosing a cavity for electrical conduits. The bottom runner 11 is L-shaped and the unit 10 is provided with pads 22 of plastics material for easy running. The top 13 of the unit 10 has a depending hook 15 which runs behind an upstanding rim of the runner 12 and a pivotal latch 17 is provided to prevent accidental rising of the unit. Various combinations of runners and units are provided Figs.4 to 9 (not shown) and the unit may be of metal or plastics. The unit may stand against a wall or two back-to-back units may be provided. A spring-loaded bolt Fig. 7 (not shown) may replace the latch 17. |
