摘要 PURPOSE:To increase a contrast ratio and to widen a visual field angle by using a phase difference compensation sheet formed by combining an optical sheet of a resin with which the refractive index in the stretching direction increases when uniaxially stretched and an optical sheet with which the refractive index decreases. CONSTITUTION:The phase difference compensation sheet formed by combining the optical sheet of the resin (A resin) with which the refractive index in the stretching direction increases and the resin (B resin) with which the refractive index in the stretching direction decreases is used. The A resin is more particularly preferably polycarbonate and polyvinyl alcohol. The B resin is more particularly preferably a resin essentially consisting of methyl methacrylate (MMA). Further, the most preferable compsn. of the optical sheets is two-sheet laminations of the uniaxially stretched sheet and nonuniform biaxially stretched sheet of the A resin and the B resin. The liquid crystal display device which has the high contrast ratio and the wide visual field angle is obtd. in this way.
