PURPOSE:To produce the title substance in high selectivity by reacting hexafluoropropene oxide containing hexafluoropropene with a perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride in the presence of an alkyleneurea compound catalyst in an aprotic polar solvent. CONSTITUTION:Hexafluoropropene oxide (A) is made to react with a compound expressed by formula I (Rf is F or rerfluoro-lower alkyl) used in an amount of molar excess in the presence of a compound expressed by formula II (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl; (n is 2 or 3) in an aprotic polar solvent (e.g. diethylene glycol dimethyl ether) at -10 to +30 deg.C to produce the title substance. Hexafluoropropene oxide containing <=20mol% hexafluoropropene is normally used as the compound (A) and the objective substance can be obtained in high selectivity. The catalyst is inexpensive and a reaction system containing the once used catalyst can also be reused. A raw material monomer for fluororubbers is produced from the title substance. |
