PURPOSE:To make possible the smooth and continuous cutting of hot steel under a rotary cutting method. CONSTITUTION:A rotary blade 2 on a rotary cutter 1 rotates in an arrow direction 8 centering around an axis 7. Hot steel 3 travels in an arrow direction on a roller 5 centering around a rotary axis 7. A water jet having a sufficient energy of penetrating force is injected in J direction and runs into a contact surface between material 3 and the rotary blade 2 and the cut surface of the material 3. Then a space filled with water is generated between the rotary blade 2 and the material 3, thus providing improved lubricating property between the both substances and better discharging property for cuttings. As a result, cutting takes place smoothly. |
