<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the waste of energy by actuating at least one of a power cut-off means and an alarm means when detection of the open state of a cover body state detection means is continued for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:The open or closed state of a cover is detected by the ON or OFF state of a cover open/close detection switch 1. When the cover open state is detected, a control part 3 locks a keyboard 2 with a key to cut the supply of an energizing signal to a printer drive part 7 and starts a built-in timer. Under such conditions, a power cut-off means or an alarm means is actuated if the open state of the cover is continuously detected for a prescribed time. Thus it is possible to prevent such a trouble where the cover is kept open in a power application state and therefore to prevent the waste of energy.</p> |
