<p>PURPOSE:To permit simple and instantaneous document inputting/editing work after two-document display is specified by providing a display method deciding means for two-document arrangement with the largest possible character dot configuration without needing scrolling in the digit direction. CONSTITUTION:A document preparing device for inputting/editing two documents while they are being simultaneously displayed on a screen is equipped with a character inputting means 1, a document editing means 2, a display means 3, a document storage means 4, a two-document calling means 6, and a display method deciding means 7. When the sum of the digits of the first lines of the two displayed documents is less than the number of digits displayed by a display means, each line of the two documents are so arranged that they are continuous. When the sum exceeds the displayed number of digits, each line of the two documents are so arranged that they are in parallel with each other, and thus the two documents are displayed after being divided into two. In this way, when a one-document diaplying state changes to a two-document diaplying state, a two-document diaplying state without scrolling in the digit direction can be selected both for a main and an auxiliary documents.</p> |
