PURPOSE:To obtain the title film useful for magnetic tape, etc., solving cut, tear, etc., while maintaining excellent heat resistance and mechanical characteristics by blending a para-orientated rigid aromatic polyamide with a nonrigid aromatic polyamide. CONSTITUTION:The objective film comprising (A) a para-orientated rigid aromatic polyamide and (B) a nonrigid aromatic polyamide, having 2-40wt.% component B based on the total amounts of the components A and B, >=7kg/mm<2> film strength at 1% elongation of the film in the longer direction and 4% water absorption ratio. For example, a para-orientated rigid aromatic polyamide having >=60wt.% repeating unit shown by formula I (q is 0-4) is used as the component A and a nonrigid aromatic shown by formula II is used as the component B. |
