PURPOSE:To reduce the probability of the occurrence of a short circuit between electrode plates by using a shift regulating means to regulate the shift of one part of the bottom portion of an expanded grid inside a battery jar. CONSTITUTION:To enclose in a battery jar 15 a positive electrode plate 12, a negative electrode plate 13 and an isolating member 14 stacked one after another, a junction member 16 made of such a synthetic resin as hot melt, polyethylene and the like is made to flow in a line on the inner bottom surface of the battery jar 15 and the positive electrode plate 12, the negative electrode plate 13 and the isolating plate 14 are enclosed therein. The positive electrode 12, the negative electrode 13 and the isolating member 14 are joined to one another by hardening of the junction member 16 and are each restrained from moving relative to the battery jar 15. A long time can thus be taken before a short circuit occurs between the electrode plates, whereby the life of the storage battery can be prolonged. |
