PURPOSE:To prevent a deformation of a casing caused by an adsorption and a discharging of hydrogen gas and to improve a heat exchanging efficiency by a method wherein a corrugated plate is fixed to an inner surface of the casing and heat-resistant resilient tubes are placed between a plurality of fuel cylinders. CONSTITUTION:When hydrogen gas is adsorbed in a plurality of fuel cylinders 2a and 2b, thermal medium (water) is supplied from a thermal medium supplying port 8 and at the same time hydrogen gas is supplied through a pipe 4. At this time, since a spacing to which the thermal medium is fed is narrowed by some mountain parts 6 of a corrugated plate 5 and a plurality of resilient silicone tubes 7, a flow speed of the thermal medium within the casing 1 is made fast, resulting in that a heat exchanging efficiency with the fuel cylinders 2a and 2b is high and a hydrogen adsorbing rate of the hydrogen alloy within the fuel cylinders 2a and 2b is improved. In order to release hydrogen gas from the fuel cylinders 2a and 2b, hot gas is fed from the thermal medium supplying port 8. At this time, since the spacing for use in feeding the thermal medium is made narrow by the mountain portions 6 of the corrugated plate 5 and a plurality of resilient silicone tubes 7, a flow speed of the thermal medium is made fast, a heat exchanging efficiency with the plurality of fuel cylinders 2a and 2b is high and so a releasing of hydrogen gas is carried out rapidly.
