<p>Tobacco substitutes from made by lengthy thermolysis under air exclusion, below 100 (35-80) degrees C and pref. over 35 (60-95)% relative air humidity of any assimilable chlorophyll-contg non-tobacco plant material (A) and/or tobacco components (B) not originating from tobacco. Pref. (B) is a mixture contg 4-30 (10-22)% aminoacids, oligomers or salts thereof or protein hydrolysates; 0.2-20 (2-8)% 12-33C hydrocarbons 5-65 (30-50)% sugars and/or sugar alcohols; 2-20 (4.5-10)% polysaccharides (such as starch, pectins, cellulose hydrolysis products); 5-45 (14-37)% 2-34C (un)saturated acids or derivs. polyphenols; xanthophyll (degradation products); NH3 and amines; tanning agents.</p> |
