PURPOSE:To enhance service life of elements, when an actuator is driven repeatedly, by juxtaposing a conductive paste and a metallic member having high mechanical fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance as an external electrode. CONSTITUTION:A conductive paste and a metallic member are juxtaposed. The conductive paste is applied at first, in a predetermined pattern, through screen printing or the like onto the side face of a laminate and then the metallic member, immersed in the conductive paste, is secured thereto and baked. When the conductive paste 4 and the metallic member 5 are juxtaposed in such a manner, an external electrode 3 is protected against deterioration even after long time driving of the multilayer piezoelectric actuator. |
