发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp black and white display which is thin and light and has a high display grade and to obtain a wide visual field angle as well by disposing a uniaxially stretched high-polymer film having negative optical anisotropy and a uniaxially stretched high-polymer film having positive optical anisotropy in combination as an optical compensation plate. CONSTITUTION:A supertwisted liquid crystal cell 1 has transparent electrodes 4 and oriented film 6 respectively having prescribed patterns on upper and lower glass substrates 2, 3 and has transparent electrodes 5 and oriented film 7 respectively having prescribed patterns on the other glass substrate 3. A liquid crystal layer 8 is sandwiched by these two glass substrates. A polarizing plate 9 and a phase difference plate 11 having the negative optical anisotropy are disposed on one side of this supertwisted type liquid crystal cell 1 and a polarizing plate 10 and a phase difference plate 12 having the positive optical anisotropy are disposed on the other one side. The high contrast ratio and the wide visual field angle as well as the stable black and white display are obtd. in this way and the display grade is improved.
