The invention comprises compounds of formula and their acid addition salts, wherein X 1 and X 2 are each Cl, Br or I, and a process for making them by reacting guanidine with C 1-6 alkyl esters of the corresponding bis(p-halophenoxy)acetic acid. Therapeutic compositions for oral or parenteral administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which have hypocholesteremic/ hypolipemic activity. |
