1,266,298. Flash-bulbs. GTE SYLVANIA Inc. Dec. 10, 1970 [Dec. 29, 1969], No. 58804/70. Heading G2L. [Also in Division C1] Fulminating material for use as the priming charge in a percussively ignitable flash-bulb has powdered titanium as one of its constituents. A preferred material has the following composition by weight titanium powder 48À01% potassium chlorate 24À85% red phosphorus 24À85% hydroxyethylcellulose 1À30% magnesium oxide 0À66% sodium lignin sulphonate 0À23% sodium 2-ethyl-hexylsulphate 0À03% trichlorophenol 0À04% sulphur 0À03% sufficient water being added to give the required viscosity for application. The amount of titanium present may vary between 10% and 90% and the phosphorus to chlorate ratio is between 0À5 and 2À0. The sodium 2-ethyl-hexylsulphate is a microbicide which retards mould development during storage of the material. |
