Process for neutralising the amine wash residue from petroleum fractions, known as "spent monoethanolamine" (MEA), essentially comprising the following operations: - preparing an aqueous emulsion, which may be heated, of at least one saturated and/or unsaturated higher fatty acid, and - reacting the aforesaid aqueous emulsion with the aforesaid amine wash residue, which may be heated, in order to obtain a product in the form of a fatty substance having lubricating or detergent properties according to the chemical nature of the fatty acid used. |
