PURPOSE:To set operation characteristics matching the sensitivity of a player by controlling the correlation between the manipulated variable of a modulating operation element and a control parameter which is generated according to the manipulated variable. CONSTITUTION:A musical sound signal generating means 6 generates a musical sound signal, which is modulated with the modulating signal generated by a modulating signal generating means 8. Then the modulating operation element 3 is operated to control the depth, speed, etc., of the modulation during performance. Further, a control part 1 controls the correlation between the manipulated variable of the modulating operation element 3 and the control parameter generated according to the manipulated variable. Namely, the relation between the manipulated variable of the modulating device element and the generated control parameter is varied not by varying only a coefficient merely determining the rate of variation, but by varying the relation itself of variation of the control parameter due to variation in the manipulated variable of the modulating operation element 3. Consequently, this musical instrument can be adapted to various players and various melodies. |
