PURPOSE:To enable only the user of the liquid crystal panel to view display contents by providing a polarizing plate on a front side freely attachably and detachably to and from the panel body so that the polarizing plate covers the entire surface or a part of the surface of the liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:The polarizing plate 7 is formed freely attachable and detachable and is positioned between the liquid crystal display panel A and the user 11. The polarizing plate 8 on the rear side faces a panel light source 9 while the front side polarizing plate 7 detached from the front side of cell glass 4 enclosing a liquid crystal 1 exists in front of the user 11 who views the display screen. The incident polarized light on the inside of the liquid crystal 1 changes as the plane of the polarization thereof mates the light distribution direction of the liquid crystal unless a voltage is impressed between transparent electrodes 2 and 3. The polarized light, thereupon, transmits only the panel part impressed with the voltage and does not transmit the other parts if the polarization directions of the light shielding plates 7 and 8 are held the same. Only the user is able to recognize the display images in this way. |
