PURPOSE:To maintain a specified cell gap and to improve a display contrast by forming segment electrodes and common electrodes to interdigital shapes and disposing color filters on the electrodes of the interdigital shapes on the segment side and disposing light shielding films in the non-display regions on the common electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The plural segment electrodes 2 constituting seven segmented light are formed in the interdigital shape on the one transparent substrate 1a. On the other hand, the light shielding films 4 are formed by using metals, such as nickel and chromium, on the non-display regions, exclusive of slit parts and display region parts, on the common electrodes of the other substrate 1b. The color filter layers 5 for making multicolor display are formed on the segment electrodes 2 formed to the interdigital shape. The specified gap is maintained in this way and the unequal gaps are prevented. |
