An apparatus for checking the integrity of gas-tight sealing between sections of pipe, in particular between pipes and pipe couplings, by using two separated, elastic packers is described. When under axial pressure loading the packers can be pressed against the surfaces of the pipe and thereby enclose the test site that is to be checked. When this is done, the first packer is pressed against the wall of the pipe from the inside at the test site, and the second packer is pressed against the outer periphery of the wall of the pipe or the pipe coupling. This makes it possible to check, in particular, short sections of pipe for sealing integrity even in the production facility. |
