PURPOSE:To obtain a silk yarn having high resistance to rubbing by reacting silk yarn with a reactive urethane resin containing plural isocyanate groups and a compound containing a group reactive with isocyanate group in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Preferably, silk yarn is pretreated with a phase transfer catalyst (e.g. ammonium salt type or phosphonium salt type), dried, then treated with a reactive urethane resin containing plural isocyanate groups in a free state or a blocked state and a compound (e.g. compound containing group such as OH, NH2 or COOH) and containing a group reactive with isocyanate group to give the objective modified silk yarn having excellent feeling in handling and high resistance to rubbing. |
