PURPOSE:To enable photoconductive material life control by a discrete value to be accurately executed by a method wherein a count means which adds +1 in discrete value by moving in correspondence with start of supply of paper and a subtraction means which applies (-1) in discrete value when a paper carrying miss is generated until exposure on a photoconductive material is started, are established. CONSTITUTION:When a pick up roller is operated and paper is supplied from a paper feed cassette, counting of one sheet is executed. That is, (+1) is added to a discrete value stored in an erazable storage element 24. (Count means) Whether paper feed is not executed though the pick up roller is operated, is checked. Further, detection for jamming, i.e., whether or not clogging of paper occurs until exposure on a photoconductor drum 29 is started though paper feed is executed, is checked. If an insertion error occurs or if clogging of paper occurs, (-1) is applied to the discrete value stored in the erazable storage element 24. (Subtraction means) Then, operation of the device is stopped by the error. |
