1313726 Latex paints FMC CORP 19 April 1971 [18 Feb 1970] 22082/71 Heading C3P A latex paint containing 0À01 to 1% isooctyl carbamate based on the total weight of the total paint may be prepared by dispersing at least the bulk of the pigment to be used in the paint in an aqueous suspension and then mixing the dispersed pigment suspension with latex in the presence of 0À01 to 1% isooctyl carbamate being employed in the dispersing of the pigment suspension. In the examples the paints comprise : water, cellulosic thickener, sodium polycarboxylate, non-ionic surfactant, potassium tripolyphosphate, isooctyl carbamate, phenyl mercuric acetate, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, defoamer, titanium dioxide, silica, calcium carbonate, vinyl-acrylic copolymer latex, K 2 Co 3 , lecithin, clay (aluminium silicate), vinyl acetate copolymer latex, styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, propylene glycol and methyl cellulose. |
