<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a danger that the central part of an expanding air bag body make impact on the faces and the breasts of passengers being seated and children by previously supplying gas from gas generators on both side parts among plural gas generators, thereby expanding both side parts of the air bag body prior to expanding the central part. CONSTITUTION:Gas generators 15, 16, 17 are fixed to the base plate 13 of an air bag device 11, and an air bag body 21 having gas injecting ports 20 is mounted through retainers 23 to the base plate 13. A delay circuit is incorporated between a sensing mechanism and an ignition device of, for example, the gas generator 16 to operate the ignition device of the gas generator 16 after the gas generators 15, 17 on both side parts are operated, for example, with a time delay of 15m sec. Thus, since both side parts of the air bag body are expanded prior to the central part, a highly safe air bag device without danger that passengers being seated and children are subjected to impact on the faces and the breasts, can be obtained.</p> |
