PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of surface defects by using UV curing resin as the org. resin protective layer of the optical recording medium, specifying the acyloyl equiv. thereof, specifying the viscosity of a coating liquid onto a substrate and a recording layer to apply the coating liquid, and specifying the film thickness thereof to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer is formed on at least one surface of a transparent substrate and the org. resin protective layer is provided on the surface of this recording layer and/or the surface of the transparent substrate on which the recording layer is not formed. This org. resin protective layer is the coated film formed by forming the UV curing resin having 50 to 500 acryloyl equiv. to a compsn. having 3 to 500 cps viscosity, then subjecting the coating to a curing treatment. The film thickness thereof is specified to 3 to 15 mum. Then, the surface tension of the compsn. is maintained at a high level and, therefore, even if foreign matter intrudes into the coated film, build-ups of a relatively large curvature are formed on the periphery of the foreign matter. The optical recording medium having the org. resin protective layer free from the surface defects is obtd. in this way. |
