PURPOSE:To simplify the calculation processing of hue and to shorten time for the calculation processing by calculating the hue based on information concerning intersections crossing a semistraight line, which executes linkage from the center of a regular triangle formed by the values of three normalized primary colors to the points of the three normalized primary colors (r), (g) and (b), to the sides of the regular triangle. CONSTITUTION:A three primary color input part 1 records three primary colors R, G and B for each point of an input picture, and a color normalizing pat 2 reads out the R, G and B for each point to be recorded in the three primary color input part 1, executes the calculation processing and outputs the normalized values (r), (g) and (b). A hue calculation means 9 calculates the hue based on the information concerning the intersections crossing the semistraight line, which is linked from the center of the regular triangle formed by the values of the three normalized primary colors to the points of the three normalized primary colors (r), (g) and (b), to the sides of the regular triangle. Thus, the calculation amount of the hue is decreased and time for the processing can be shortened. |
