<p>Diuretic indole derivs. New cpds. are of formula (I) (where A is a group of formula D, E or F; Y is -CHR8- or -CH2CH2-; Z is -CHR9 - or -CHR10 -CHR11-; R, which may be absent, is H or lower alkyl or alkenyl carrying an OH, oxo or ketalized oxo group; R3, which may be absent, is H, a C-N bond being formed in the simultaneous absence of R and R3; R1 is h or oxo (R1=H when R and R3 are not both absent); R2 and R7 -R10- are H or lower alkyl; R4 is H, lower alkyl or Ph (R4 is not H when Z is -CHR10 -CHR11-); R5 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, di(lower alkyl)amino (lower alkyl), phonyl(lower alkyl), lower alkoxy-carbonyl or pyrrolidino (lower alkyl) R5 is not equal H when R and R3 are both absent, R5 = H or lower alkyl when R and R3 are not both absent, and R5 is = di (lower alkyl)amino-(lower alkyl) or pyrrolidino (lower alkyl) when A is E or F); R6 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl(lower alkoxy) lower alkanoyloxy, phenyl (lower alkanoyloxy) or OH (R6 = H or lower alkyl or alkoxy when R and R3 are not both absent); R14 is lower alkyl opt. subst. by OH, oxo or ketalized oxo; and X circled negative is an anion) and their acid addition salts, are prepd. by a variety of known means.</p> |
