A hinge is formed from a metal pressing 10 and has at least part of an eye 14 and a central recess 15 (Fig. 3) running from the eye, the recess being covered either by a second pressing 11 welded to the pressing 10 or by a folded over part of the pressing 10, Fig. 5 (not shown). As shown, the pressing 11 is T-shaped, the head of the T, 21 being welded to the part eye 14 to complete the eye. The pressing 10 may have flanges 12 and may be cranked as shown. The eye may have a bush 25 of one or more pieces. The hinge part 10 may be welded, bolted or rivetted to a door. |
