PURPOSE:To safely produce the subject expanded particle by impregnating a specific fluorocarbon in a polyolefin resin particle, thermally expanding the obtained expandable resin particle to obtain primary expanded particle having a specific expansion ratio and further expanding the particle by including air into the particle. CONSTITUTION:An expandable resin particle is produced by impregnating 1-8g of monochlorodifluoromethane or tetrafluoroethane into 100g of a polyolefin resin particle. The expandable resin particle is expanded by heating to obtain a primary expanded particle having an expansion ratio of 2-5.5. The primary expanded particle is further expanded to a target expansion ratio by including air into the particle. The expanded polyolefin resin particle produced by the above process gives a molded article having high quality in a mold. |
